I saw this lamp in a high-end catalog at a higher cost. When I spotted in on Amazon at a lower cost, I decided to give it a attempt. This little lamp gives off some decent light. It does take 4 "C" batteries, that are not included. Originally, I had planned to utilize it in my basement, but I've discovered it to be a terrific size for the shelves which are on either side of my kitchen sink. In reality, I like this small lamp so significantly that I just ordered a 2nd one to ensure that I've a matching set. I ordered the Sunderland blue lamps for a guest room. The present photos show the correct color. The packaging was exceptional. My only minor complaint is the fact that the shades do not sit perfectly level, so I had to turn the lamp base a bit to give the look of levelness from the front, but it's not a severe issue. The lamps are stunning and look perfect in my bedroom. I had shopped a number of local stores and could not uncover anything that I wanted. I was about to "settle" for a thing until a buddy told me about Amazon. I went on the website and discovered a lot of selections. Received from another web site, but nonetheless from exactly the same business and I'm quite happy with what I received. I bought them for my bedroom and they look fantastic. Quite small effort to put them together and had been packed quite well. I was nervous concerning the shades, but they were packed in a very intelligent way. I'd surely advise, BUT beware, so that you can replace a bulb you may have to remove the harp. Just no wiggle room to replace a bulb without having removing the harp. I own this table model OttLite lamp and 3 floor models. Do not acquire them. They're extremely attractive and give off excellent light, but they are poorly engineered and you may have troubles. Like the people who have written evaluations on other web sites, I locate that the bulbs just fall out. They shatter. They're very costly to replace. In addition, the stand of the lamp is inadequately screwed into the base. Regardless of how tight you attempt to make it, it will not go in deeply. You will find that soon after moving the lamp a couple of times to clean, it will not stand straight anymore and it's going to eventually will fall over in pieces. I have the impression these lamps were developed by interior decorators with no the assist of electrical engineers or even electricians. A very fairly but frustrating and ultimately useless item.
